The Challenge:

Hanting Hotel required a rapid bathroom renovation across guest rooms without closing floors or disrupting operations. The design brief called for a modern cement-texture finish that would complement the hotel's contemporary aesthetic. The material had to be fully waterproof, fire-rated, and capable of withstanding daily steam, cleaning chemicals, and high traffic.

The Arris Solution:

Supplied custom cement-texture SPC stone crystal wall panels, produced on the same rigid SPC core platform as our marble granule range.

Each panel was factory-cut to 2400×600mm, enabling floor-to-ceiling installation with minimal seams.

Panels were installed directly over the existing wall substrate using structural adhesive, with waterproof sealing strips inserted at joints in shower areas.

A factory-bonded moisture barrier was applied to the backside of panels in the wettest zones.

The Result:

Installation was completed rapidly with no demolition, no wet trades, and no guest-floor closures. After continuous use in hot, humid bathroom and shower environments, the cement-texture panels show no swelling, discoloration, mold, or edge lifting. Housekeeping teams clean the surfaces with standard disinfectants without affecting the matte texture. The hotel achieved a modern, design-forward bathroom finish with the waterproof durability and low maintenance of SPC.

1. What exactly is an "SPC marble granule" panel, and how is it different from real marble?

SPC stands for Stone Plastic Composite. The panel core is made from calcium carbonate (stone powder) and virgin PVC resin, extruded into a rigid, waterproof sheet. The "marble granule" refers to the decorative surface, which uses high-definition printing and embossing to replicate natural marble veining. Unlike real marble, SPC panels are waterproof, do not require sealing, are much lighter, and can be installed quickly without specialized stone-cutting tools.

2. What is the actual thickness — the overview says 2–3mm, but the specification table says 4–9mm. Which is correct?

Thickness depends on the specific product line and application. Standard wall panel thicknesses range from 4mm to 9mm. Thinner profiles (2–3mm) may be available for specific applications where reduced weight is critical, such as direct overlay on existing smooth substrates. Please confirm the exact specification with our technical team before ordering — we will recommend the optimal thickness based on your wall condition, fire rating requirements, and installation method.

3. Is the panel truly 100% waterproof, and can it be used in a shower?

Yes. The SPC core is closed-cell and non-porous, with water absorption below 0.5%. It does not swell, delaminate, or support mold growth. The panels are suitable for shower rooms and bathroom walls. For steam-heavy shower areas, we recommend waterproof joint seals and a factory-applied backside moisture barrier — both available as custom options. The Hanting Hotel project used these panels in guest bathroom shower areas with zero water damage after continuous use.

4. What is the fire rating, and can I get documentation for my building permit?

The panel carries a B1 fire resistance rating and is self-extinguishing. Fire test reports are available upon request for building permit and insurance submittals. The B1 rating is particularly relevant for projects in the Middle East, South America, and Belt and Road markets where fire code enforcement is stringent.

5. How fast can these panels be installed compared to tile or marble?

An ordinary worker can install 50–80 m² per day using click-lock or adhesive methods. A typical hotel bathroom can be completed in a few hours by a two-person team. By comparison, natural stone or ceramic tile installation requires substrate preparation, adhesive curing, grouting, and sealing — typically several days per room. The Hanting Hotel renovation was completed without closing guest floors, demonstrating the speed advantage in an occupied-building scenario.

6. Can the panels be installed directly over existing tile or marble?

Yes, in most cases. As long as the existing surface is clean, dry, and structurally sound, the panels can be bonded directly using structural adhesive. This eliminates demolition, disposal costs, and the downtime associated with removing old finishes. Our technical team can advise based on site photos and wall condition.

7. What marble designs are available, and can you match a specific stone?

We offer over 200 marble designs, including Carrara White, Calacatta Gold, Nero Marquina, and Statuario White. If you have a specific stone reference — from a design intent drawing or a physical sample — our R&D team can develop a custom print and embossing match. Sample boards are provided for approval before mass production.

8. What is the formaldehyde emission level?

The panel is E0 grade with zero added formaldehyde. No glue or adhesive is used in the core bonding process. SGS or equivalent test reports are available upon request. Rooms can be occupied immediately after installation with no ventilation period required.

9 . What are the lead time and minimum order quantity?

10. Can you supply matching trims, corners, and installation accessories?
